DEAD SPIRIT ZOMA
Permanent Trap
After activating, this card becomes a Monster card (Undead/Dark/4/1800/500),
and is Special Summoned to your Monster Card Zone in defense mode. When this card is destroyed as a result of Battle,
do damage to your opponent's Life equal to the attack strength of the Monster that destroyed this one. (This card is
also treated as a Trap.)
Pros
-High damage potential
-Decent ATK strength
Cons
-Prone to M/T removal AND monster removal
This card was interesting in the anime...episode 215. It was used by Bakura against Yugi (Little Yugi's first duel using
his own deck) and was able to almost defeat Yugi. In the anime/manga, it deals double the damage...making it one powerful
card. Regardless, Trap Monsters have always been interesting and Zoma is a welcome addition.
This card makes Avatar of Apophis look even more pathetic. It has a decent 1800 ATK, with a Reflect Bounder-like effect.
The good thing is...you can RAM Zoma into a larger monster just to burn your opponent. It doesn't even have to be in attack
mode either. Plus, it won't die when someone pecks it off with something weaker than it unlike Reflect Bounder. The way I
see it, this card is superior to Reflect Bounder. Also, it is a special summon and can be used as sacrifice bait or rushing
(just activate it at the end of your opponent's turn to switch it to attack mode during your turn).
Like all Trap Monsters, it is prone to ALL removal as they are still treated as traps. Just hope your opponent doesn't
Sand Tornado your Zoma back to hell...XD It also can't kill much on its own...it just burns your opponent and you might have
to take damage as well when you do that. No one would attack Zoma in defense mode...unless they have trample or you use the
other card that comes with this one...
8/10- I like this card...it can really burn your opponent. However, you have to make sure it dies in
battle...which is a problem. Other than that, Zoma is the best LV4 Trap Monster that works on its own.
