GRASP OF THE EARTHBOUND SPIRITS
Normal Trap
You can activate this card when an opponent's Monster declares
an attack. The controller of this card chooses the attack target of the attacking Monster.
Pros
-Surprise version of Noble Du Noir
-Combo's to activate "destroyed in Battle" effects of
monsters
Cons
-Requires you to have more monsters to be effective
-Bad top-deck
Like Dead Spirit Zoma, this card was used by Bakura in episode 215 against Yugi. Bakura comboed this card with Zoma to
force Yugi to attack it and burn him. However, Yugi dealt with the combo of course...This effect may remind you of Noble Du
Noir as well...
Being a trap, this card can actually be used effective unlike Noble Du Noir. The point is the surprise factor of redirecting
the attack of your opponent's monster. You can use it with Zoma make your own Magic Cylinders. Or...you can use it to make
your opponent ram into one of your biggest monsters, kill his monster in the process, and make him take some damage. Your
opponent would likely refrain from attacking monsters with "destroyed in Battle" effects, so you can use this card to force
your opponent to attack it.
This card requires other cards to be useful. It is definitely not an independent card. This card's dependence on what
monsters you have on the field make it less effective in play. You CAN activate it at anytime, so you can say you were the
one who announced an attack on yourself or your only monster. LOL... The reason that makes this card weak is itself. It's
dependence means that it is definitely a bad top-deck.
6/10- This card has potential to mess up your opponent's plans by controlling his monsters' attacks.
However, I can see how this card will be top-decked over and over and become dead weight most of the time...
