STEADFAST GUARD
Normal Magic
Look at your opponent's hand and choose 1 card there. Your opponent
shuffles that card into his or her deck.
Pros
-Removes threats before they come
-Sees threats before they come
Cons
-Dead card in late game
This card is actually rather old...released in Magic Ruler. It quickly became restricted despite being a common. This
is just one of those commons that should really be at the LEAST, Suoer Rares. With its two siblings known as Confiscate and
Mischievious Demon Twins, it introduced "Hand Control" to the metagame.
I personally use this card in every single deck I build with the exception of OTK/FTK decks. The card is amazing, you
can simply destroy your opponent's combo in their hand. You also get to see their hand at the same time, which is important.
Play RTS games like StarCraft or WarCraft and you'll know how important it is to scout. However, I'm not saying you should
then use Ceremonial Bell, Eye of Truth, or Mind on Air. This card is simply good because Magics are easy to play and this
one has no cost what-so-ever unlike its siblings: Confiscate and Mischievious Demon Twins (Both cost 1000 LP to activate).
If you are playing a combo deck yourself, this will still help to get rid of something in your opponent's hand that will DESTROY
your combo.
The only time this card doesn't shine is when you get it in the late game. Usually, many things have already happened
so your opponent's hand will be either one or even zero. That takes away the scouting factor of this card and the card in
your opponent's hand is likely not threatening at the present situation.
9.5/10- I just really like this card...Although its a 1 for 1 card, it can take away those 2 or more
for 1 cards of your opponent. If they have a good hand because of one or more good cards, take the good card away and make
it a fair to even a poor hand. Protect yourself before your opponent plays the card that will turn the game in their favor.
It's also easier to play if you know what's coming. I recommend this card for all decks except OTK/FTK decks.
