IMPERIAL CONTROL
Permanent Trap
While this card is face up on the Field, all Trap cards other than this
one are negated.

Pros:
-Serves as a quick and effective trap negator
-Has no direct cost

Cons:
-Locks your own traps as well
-Vulnerable to Magic/Trap removal

This is a card that I have seen many use, but end up killing themselves with it. Therefore, many believe that this card is unreliable. It is a pretty old card, going back to Booster Chronicle, but its use is limited to most people.

The great thing about this card is that you can simply activate it, and it locks all traps besides itself. A player can easily make short work of opponents that think they can save themselves with Traps. Due to its uncommon use, many people are caught off guard. They assume that their super-versatile Destruction Ring will turn the game around for them; however, with this card flying around, they better not make such assumptions. If you plan to play this card in your deck, make sure that you have no more than 5 traps. (This includes any Imperial Control you
decide to use.) Imperial Control also makes for one of the best anti-Burn cards in the game, so make sure you sidedeck at least 2 of them. XD

The trouble that most players face with this card is the backfiring effect. There are cases where players are unable to maintain their position of advantage and end up locking their own traps when they need it the most. I have personally seen many people who use this card...with a total of 8-12 traps. Now, those people are simply asking to lock themselves. However, even with a low amount of traps in your deck, although unlikely, it can still have the backfiring effect.

7.8/10-This card has proved to be a pretty useful addition to some of my decks. It is an excellent addition to any sidedeck. With its ability to lock dangerous traps, you can protect your monsters from being nuked by your opponent. You will have much less to fear about when you attack with the power of this card. However, it takes a great deal of rationalizing to get it to work for you and only for you. Other than that, it is a great card.
