ANTIQUE GEAR GOLEM
Earth/Machine/8/3000/3000
This card can't be Special Summoned. When this card attacks
a defense mode Monster, if this card's attack strength exceeds the defense mode Monster's defense strength, do Battle Damage
to your opponent's Life equal to the difference. When this card attacks, your opponent can't activate Magic and Trap
cards until the end of the Damage Step.
Pros:
-Huge stats!
-Tramples...
-A bit of Trap avoidance
Cons:
-Can't be Special Summoned...
-CAN'T BE SPECIAL SUMMONED?!? AHHH!
My first review in like...2 months. You can thank the SATs for draining all of my energy that I would use to write these
card reviews. Anyway, this card is introduced in episode 1 of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, used by Chronos, a "European" stereotype. He pounds
Judai with its trampling, but the antique eventually falls to pieces...
This card is instantly a great card since it is a Machine. XD Well, 3000 ATK for Machines is the highest in the game
so far. It has an equal amount of defense as well, which dodges cards such as Enemy Controller or Book of Moon by simply being
still large enough to hold off most monsters. This card is also a trampler...All those goats will be punished severly...As
I said earlier it is a great card because it is a Machine. I say this not only because I like Machines, but the existence
of a card known as Limiter Removal will likely win the game for you, especially if you use two at once (which happens quite
often) or 3...(not likely to happen XD). Your opponent will definitely not appreciate a 3000-24000 ATK trampler running over
anything that was set to protect him/her. This is very easy as this card also prevents your opponent from activating Magic
and Trap cards when you attack. Antique Gear Golem is basically immune to Holy Barrier -Mirror Force-, Reactive Armor, and
even Shrink, a card that was not easily dealt with. Well, I guess it is bad that your opponent can't activate Scapegoat if
they are dumb enough to.
The BIG downside of this card: IT CAN'T BE SPECIAL SUMMONED...You must go and sacrifice those two monsters to bring this
out. Unless they release cards that directly "put it into play", there is really no other way to use this card. If your opponent
uses Destruction Ring when it is summoned, it is too bad for you. You can always use Death Reversal to return it to your hand
and resummon after sacrificing two monsters AGAIN. Like this, you are already spending too many cards on concentrating on
using ONE monster to win. No "put into play" means this card will not be cheap to summon....
8/10- This card is really not hard to use. The downside of not being able to be Special Summoned can
hurt, but there are always other...(cough..Devil's Sanctuary..cough) ways to (cough..Troy Horse..cough) deal with this downside.
Being a huge trampler thats a Machine is VERY GOOD. This card will suddenly give you the duel in many situations.
