Card 13 : 5/27/04
Demon King of the Underworld: Hades/Dark Ruler Ha Des
Dark/Demon(Fiend)/6/2450/1600
While
this card is on the Field, negate the effects of Effect monsters that your Demon(Fiend) Sub-Type Monsters on the Field destroy
as a result of Battle. This card cannot be Special Summoned from your Cemetery.
Pros
- OBVIOUSLY negates all monsters it destroys. (Including Reverse Effects.)
- Hades shares its
effect with other demon monsters.
- A powerhouse for only one sacrafice/tribute, and a great effect.
- If you happen
to have Demon Summon, Hades makes Demon Summon into a god....
Cons
- One Soul Hunting Spirit(Spirit Reaper) or Marshmallon [not in english] can ruin your day.
-
For people like my friend Zero, Hades seems to attract lots of traps. (Don't take this too seriously but IRL when we duel,
Hades seems to be destroyed within one turn or less. He's not weak, just seems to have lots of bad luck surrounding him. LoL.)
-
Cannot be special summoned from the cemetery.
Yeah, well for a while I had my ass kicked by this card over and over when I was a newbie. In a demon deck,
I think you should have like two.
Yes, two. Some might disagree with me, but why not? I'm able to support two sacrafice monsters in my deck
normally, and Hades has a GREAT effect in demon decks, and with only one sacrafice cost. Hades can turn certain weak monsters
like Lesser Demon(Lesser Fiend) into nice powerful monsters. With an attack like 2450, I think that this monster can very
well be over powering to a slight degree. Think about it. Imagine Demon Summon(Summon Skull) and subtract 50 ATK. Just 50,
then add about 400 DEF and a nice effect. Yeah.
Now for the bad side. Hades has a slight draw back and in my opinion, the main reason you should have two
in a demon deck. Hades cannot be special summoned from the cemetary. No Revive Dead(Monster Reborn) or anything. Hades loves
to share his powers with his fellow demons but now he cant come back... ever.
Now, just out of personal matters, when ever me or my friends use Hades, he seems to attact death. I mean
like, really... My freind summons him and I just activates trap targeting Hades. It's just bad luck for us but.. Meh..
9 / 10 = In a Demon Deck
Haha! You might think it's too high of a score but come on
poeple, what monster goes better in a demon deck? Demon Summon/Summon Skull? Yeah, that's true, but every one I see has one,
and with no effect, Demon Summon is just a Demon monster that's strong. Hades has an actual effect!
7 / 10 = Okay, even outside of a demon deck, hes still okay. <Zero> Due to some confusion, my friend had the wrong idea of what Hades's effect was. To correct it, I had to
edit it completely.... so i just decided to talk over it instead. </Zero>
